How The Unknown Group Chat Began

Every story starts with an idea.

For The Unknown Group Chat, that idea began with a simple question:

What if you were added to a group chat with your friends… and one person was there who was never supposed to be?

That question became the beginning of a mystery.

I wanted to create a story that felt familiar at first. A group of friends. Their phones. Messages going back and forth. Normal conversations.

Then something changes.

Someone named UNKNOWN appears.

Nobody knows who added them.

Nobody knows who they are.

And somehow, UNKNOWN knows things the friends never told anyone.

That was the kind of mystery I wanted to build: one where every message could be a clue, every photograph could hide something important, and even the smallest detail could change what the characters thought they knew.

Building the Mystery

One of my favorite parts of writing The Unknown Group Chat is creating questions that slowly lead to bigger mysteries.

Who is UNKNOWN?

Why are these five friends being contacted?

What really happened last Friday?

Why does UNKNOWN seem to know so much?

And what happens when the group starts discovering secrets they were never supposed to find?

I wanted readers to feel like they were investigating alongside the characters.

Instead of simply watching the mystery happen, I wanted readers to notice suspicious messages, hidden clues, strange locations, and details that might become important later.

Sometimes the answer to one mystery creates an even bigger question.

The Five Friends

At the center of the series are five friends:

Jayden, Maya, Eli, Noah, and Sofia.

They each react differently when things start getting strange.

Some want answers.

Some are more careful.

Some are willing to take risks.

And sometimes they disagree about whether discovering the truth is worth the danger that comes with it.

Their friendship is a major part of the series because solving a mystery is difficult enough when you know who to trust.

It becomes much harder when someone—or something—seems to know every move you make.

The World Keeps Getting Bigger

As the series continues, the mysteries grow beyond a single group chat.

The characters discover hidden places, strange records, unanswered questions, and connections to events that happened before they ever received their first message.

Each book reveals more, while also opening the door to something new.

Room 18 takes the mystery deeper.

Route Zero continues the investigation and introduces another secret the group was never supposed to find.

And through everything, UNKNOWN is never far away.

Why I Write These Stories

I enjoy stories that make readers curious.

I like the feeling of reaching the end of a chapter and immediately wanting to know what happens next.

That is the experience I try to create with The Unknown Group Chat.

Mystery.

Suspense.

Friendship.

Secrets.

Unexpected discoveries.

And questions that do not always have easy answers.

My goal is to create stories that younger readers, young adults, and older mystery fans can all enjoy while keeping the series exciting and age-appropriate.

Thank You for Reading

If you have already read one of my books, thank you for giving my stories a chance.

And if you are discovering The Unknown Group Chat for the first time, welcome.

There are still secrets to uncover.

There are still messages waiting to be read.

And there is always another clue.

Because in The Unknown Group Chat, every message could change what you think you know.
